Proverbs 15:30 (NIV) says, "Light in a messenger's eyes brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones." What we should not do is "Awfulize" our current challenge. Jim Laxson first introduced me to the word "awfulize" and every time I use it, people nod in agreement. Yes, the need to take radical steps to curve the spread of the virus which is awkward and even intimidating...but it is doable and effective! Yes, we are taking steps to protect ourselves, but even more important is that we are taking steps to love and care for the people around us. A second "do not" is, "Do not over fixate on the current challenge!" Get enough information to be wise and then focus on the overwhelming power, love, and grace of God! Turn on some upbeat praise music. Sing songs that lift your eyes toward God who has your safety in His hands.Surround yourself with uplifting music, of any kind. Read encouraging material or watch programming that lifts your soul! Connect with people online or by phone or with safe practices. Let God give you confidence and your eyes will brighten which will bring health to your bones! Give thanks for all we have, while being a blessing to whomever you can!
